pumpkin.
I am smiling from ear to ear right now and it all is because my beautiful Richard Park pumpkin got smashed. Well to be quite honest I was not happy right when it got smashed, but to see how the whole event has turned out has completely made my day. First let me give you a little background of what happened. So I walked out of the caf today, and launched up high into the sky is my pumpkin..and as I watch it land and smash into tiny pieces I catch a glimpse and realize it is 3 of my friends on the hockey team who threw it. I was quite far away so by the time I had got to the crime scene they had already ran unto the dorm. I marched over to their room and with a sad face told them they had smashed my pumpkin, and then gave them a bag of the smashed pumpkin with a note attached saying, "put back together". They had no idea it was mine and felt terrible. Although I was sad that my pumpkin was ruined, I guess it is fair to say that I was slightly over dramatic about the whole situation. That pretty much is the story up until about four minutes ago. I walked into my dorm room and this is what I see...a beautiful pumpkin with a heart carved into it, and this truly makes me happy.

if i can't see you, you can't see me
Remember when you were a kid and you would spend forever trying to find the best hiding spot in a game of "hide and go seek"..the top two spots being under the kitchen table or behind the door... Well i was recently reminded how amusing a game of "hide and go seek" can be when playing it with a 7 year old. Having to pretend i had no idea where he was hiding while trying to hold back laughter seeing him lying face down on the kitchen floor trying not to move. Just take a minute and actually try to picture this in your head.. it is really quite a hilarious picture. If you ever need a good laugh play "hide and go seek" with a 7 year old...i promise you will be amused. xo

dad.
so it's my daddy's birthday today..sad thing is that he is away, so my sisters and me thought we would send him letter so that he would have something to open on his birthday. Having a birthday should always be happy in my opinion, and today on my dad's birthday i was happy. This morning i woke up with "1 new message" written on my phone. I open it up and it is from non other that my dad, it read "thanks jo. What a special note. You make being a dad pretty easy. Thanks again. Love you". Such a small simple message put a smile on my face first thing in the morning. I'm so thankful for such an amazing dad.

the start.
do you know what i love...remembering moments that make me smile. especially when it happen spontaneously, like last night when i was on the verge of falling asleep..and all of a sudden i am crying of laughter, not even knowing exactly what i am laughing at. This made me think of all the simple, yet amazing times in life where you find yourself in a state of pure happiness. my goal: to experience something that makes me smile each day. And what better thing to do than to share things that make you happy with everyone. So here is the start of something that will hopefully bring smiles to whoever reads this. xo
